The Belkin WeMo is switch that you can control through your iphone that turns power off and on. I been interested in getting these for a while now and Belkin have just released them in Australia. I got one last week to trial it out and so far I’m very impressed. It took me less then 5min to setup and get it working on my network. Then another 5 to get it playing with . It then posts a to my home automation twtiter account.
I know stuff like this has been around for a while with X10 and Zwave but the initial setup costs were a bit high in the interfaces quite clunky.. The cost of entry and sleek interface make these a winner. I think the mass market will take these up. Affordable, accessible and cool :)
